NPR reviews on how the Trump administration is displaying messages on company web sites blaming the Democratic Celebration for the federal government shutdown and speaking such messages internally, actions which will run afoul of ethics legal guidelines:
A vivid pink banner and pop-up message first appeared Tuesday on the Division of Housing and City Growth’s web site. It was up to date early Wednesday morning and warns: “The Radical Left in Congress shut down the federal government. HUD will use obtainable assets to assist Individuals in want.”
Wednesday morning, a banner added to the highest of Division of Justice web sites reads “Democrats have shut down the federal government” with a hyperlink to its shutdown plans.
Staffers at a number of companies and Cupboard departments obtained emails on Tuesday from the White Home Workplace of Administration and Funds. Many shared screenshots of these emails with NPR, or confirmed the textual content of the message they obtained. The messages mentioned any lapse in authorities funding could be “compelled by Congressional Democrats.”

“My jaw dropped once I learn it,” says an SBA worker who requested to stay nameless as a result of they don’t seem to be licensed to talk to the press. The worker says they nervous that if somebody truly used the e-mail template, it “could be a blatant violation of the Hatch Act.”
