A fireplace on the velodrome in Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Park was introduced below management early on 8 April, with no danger of it spreading to different elements of the complicated and no accidents reported, hearth officers mentioned.
Round 80 firefighters and 20 hearth vans tackled the blaze, the state’s army hearth division mentioned in an announcement, including that nobody was damage.
The velodrome was constructed for the 2016 Rio Olympics and is run by the town authorities. It homes the Olympic Museum, which options displays and historic artifacts from the Video games, together with the Olympic torch and medals.
In 2017, its roof was struck by two fires, inflicting minor harm.
