Police and firefighters responded to stories of a rooftop fireplace at a constructing beneath building in downtown Toronto, Canada simply after 6pm Friday.
“Data obtained that gadgets are presumably exploding and particles could also be falling onto the road under,” Toronto Police Operations Centre wrote in a submit on X, warning residents to “use warning travelling within the space.”
The incident close to Richmond Road West and John Road prompted highway closures and pedestrian restrictions within the space, as emergency personnel rushed to the scene.
Toronto Fireplace Companies later stated crews remained on scene after a two-alarm fireplace on the roof of a industrial constructing on Richmond Road West led to ruptured propane cylinders, heavy flames and thick smoke. Firefighters stated crews protected the remaining cylinders and extinguished the hearth, including that no accidents have been reported.
There have been no stories of casualties, whereas native media footage confirmed thick smoke and flames rising from the rooftop.
