WOODCLIFF LAKE, New Jersey (WABC) — A lady is recovering after being attacked by a coyote whereas she was outdoors along with her canine in Bergen County on Monday afternoon.
The assault occurred round 1:20 p.m. at a house in Woodcliff Lake.
In keeping with Woodcliff Lake Police Capt. Chad Malloy, a coyote bit a girl on her leg, arm and again whereas she was along with her golden retriever of their yard. Officers say the coyote additionally went after the girl’s canine, however it was not injured through the encounter.
The coyote then took off.
The girl suffered non-life-threatening accidents from the assault. She was taken to the hospital for remedy.
Police within the meantime are urging residents to pay attention to their environment, particularly whereas outdoors with small pets.
In September, police euthanized a coyote after two individuals have been attacked whereas strolling their canines within the borough of Saddle River in Bergen County.
