
Flames and heavy smoke spewed on Lengthy Island in a single day as flames tore by a row of companies and a church, leaving one firefighter with minor accidents and the charred remnants of livelihoods on the road.
Seven fireplace departments from neighboring communities got here to assist the Hicksville Hearth Division battle the four-alarm blaze, which broke out at a two-story industrial constructing on Marie Road shortly after midnight.
About 200 firefighters had been stated to be working on the scene.
Nassau County police say the reason for the hearth is underneath investigation.
