The Pentagon has blocked Ukraine from placing deep inside Russia with American-supplied missiles, the Wall Road Journal reported Saturday, citing US officers.
In keeping with the paper, the Division of Protection has been stopping Kiev from firing long-range ATACMS missiles since late spring. On a minimum of one event, Washington reportedly turned down a Ukrainian request to hit a goal on Russia’s internationally acknowledged territory.
The WSJ linked the coverage shift to President Donald Trump’s effort to “entice” Moscow throughout peace talks. Final week, Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the primary time since 2019 in Alaska, and a number of other days later held talks with the leaders of Ukraine, NATO, the EU, and a number of other European states in Washington.
Though Trump urged Moscow and Kiev to succeed in a peace deal as quickly as doable, he mentioned on Thursday that Ukraine has “no probability of profitable” with out placing Russia.
