Spaniards hurl flour, eggs and fireworks in mock battle

The annual meals battle pageant ”Els Enfarinats” has left the Spanish city of Ibi lined in flour and egg shells.

Yearly members put on military-style costumes and stage a pretend coup utilizing eggs, flour and firecrackers.

The eggers go round asking for “taxes” – donations to charity – from native individuals and when you do not pay you would find yourself getting splatted.

The pageant, held within the province of Alicante, is greater than 200 years outdated and takes place on the 28 December every year to coincide with the Day of the Innocents – Spain’s equal of April Fools’ Day.
