Temple Emanu-El celebrates its one hundred and eightieth anniversary

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — Temple Emanu-El celebrated its one hundred and eightieth anniversary with a celebration occasion on Friday.

For 180 years, Congregation Emanu-El has been a cornerstone of Jewish life in New York Metropolis.

From humble beginnings in a second-floor loft on the Decrease East Aspect to a sanctuary on Fifth Avenue, the congregation’s journey displays the power and spirit of its group.

A particular Shabbat night service was held to mark the extraordinary milestone.
