NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — A volunteer for Mayor Eric Adams’ reelection marketing campaign has been suspended after reportedly attempting to offer a reporter money in a potato chip bag.
The mayor’s marketing campaign confirmed that Winnie Greco has been suspended from her volunteer duties with the marketing campaign.
It follows a report Wednesday in “The Metropolis,” which says she tried to offer one in all their reporters cash hidden within the chip bag.
“We’re shocked by these studies. Winnie Greco holds no place on this marketing campaign and has been suspended from all VOLUNTEER campaign-related actions. Mayor Adams had no prior information of this matter. He has at all times demanded the very best moral and authorized requirements, and his sole focus stays on serving the folks of New York Metropolis with integrity,” Todd Shapiro, a spokesperson for Mayor Eric Adams’ marketing campaign, stated in a press release.
The New York Occasions printed a press release from Greco’s lawyer Steven Brill, who stated her try to offer cash may need been “misconstrued” and that she is apologetic and embarrassed.
