Suspect killed, officer shot after gunpoint theft results in shootout in Queens, police sources say


QUEENS (WABC) — A police officer was shot in Jamaica, Queens on Tuesday night, police sources stated.

Police stated the incident began as a gunpoint theft at 92-18 Man R Brewer Blvd.

The responding officer exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who died on the scene, police stated.

The officer was shot within the leg and brought to Jamaica Hospital in a police cruiser.

He’s in steady situation, police stated.

A lady was additionally shot within the leg, police stated.

The suspect was reportedly wished for different robberies, police stated.

A gun has been recovered on the scene, officers stated.

The investigation is ongoing.
