NEW YORK (WABC) — There have been terrifying moments for passengers on board a flight out of LaGuardia Airport after a fowl strike pressured the pilot to redirect and land at JFK Airport.
Crystal Groves Thomas, a passenger on the flight, captured video of the fowl seemingly hitting the engine.
Officers say the American Airways flight took off from LaGuardia simply after 7 p.m. Thursday heading to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Just some minutes into the flight, a fowl struck one of many engines and broken it.
The pilot reported to ATC: “It seems we have now an engine failure, however we’re nonetheless type of working via to determine what is going on on. We hit birds on we hit birds on the on the best way out.”
The flight was pressured to redirect to JFK Airport utilizing only one engine.
