The Trump administration is widening its investigation into transgender athletes in California over claims the state is violating federal regulation by permitting them to compete in girls’s sports activities.
The US Division of Training added the California Group School Athletic Affiliation — which oversees 108 athletic applications statewide — to its present investigation into trans athletes launched final yr.

“Girls’s sports activities are for ladies,” stated the division’s Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Kimberly Richey. “The Trump administration won’t tolerate insurance policies that erase girls’s rights.”
The transfer expands a rising listing of California entities already below federal scrutiny, together with the Jurupa Unified College District, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified College District, Santa Monica School and Santa Rosa Junior School.

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom — regardless of admitting the reality on a podcast — continues to place ideology above the protection and equity of his personal college students,” the Division of Training stated in a press release.
Nationwide, the Training Division’s investigations now span 18 faculty districts and faculties, in response to federal officers.
